# Vinted account hacked: what to do next

A hacked Vinted account can be used to change your withdrawal details, edit your listings or scam other members. These are the steps from Vinted's Help Centre, depending on whether you can still log in.

Last updated: October 2026

## In short

### My Vinted account was hacked. What should I do?

If you can still log in, tell Vinted straight away with Contact us, then go to Settings > Security, check your email address hasn't changed, log out of unknown devices, change your password and turn on 2-step verification. If you can't log in, use Forgotten your password? and contact Vinted if that fails. Once Vinted confirms the account was compromised, it temporarily locks it to protect it.

## Signs your account has been compromised

- unexpected changes to your personal information
- your username, email address or password no longer work
- password reset emails or phone verification messages you didn't ask for
- unexplained transactions or changes to your withdrawal details
- unexpected changes to your listings
- conversations with members you don't remember talking to

## If you can still log in

1. Tell Vinted immediately using Contact us at the bottom of its hacked-account help page.
2. Go to Settings > Security and make sure your email address hasn't been changed.
3. Review Login activity and log out of every device you don't recognise.
4. Change your password and turn on 2-step verification.

## If you can't log in

1. Try your email address instead of your username, or the method you signed up with (Facebook, Google or Apple ID).
2. On the login screen, choose to continue with email and select Forgotten your password?
3. Follow the reset link in the email Vinted sends you (check your spam folder too).
4. If you no longer have access to that email address or the email never arrives, contact Vinted.

If you still can't get in, Vinted says the account may be locked because of suspicious activity, in which case you'll need to confirm you own it to unlock it.

## After you get back in

Vinted recommends reviewing all your personal information, listing details and conversations to make sure nothing has been altered. Check your withdrawal details carefully: changed withdrawal details are one of the warning signs Vinted lists.

## If a phishing message started it

1. Report it with Contact us, or forward the [phishing](https://atakanrecoveryservices.com/glossary/#phishing) email to phishing@vinted.com.
2. Include screenshots, the username or profile link of the member who asked for your details, the sender's email or phone number and any bank details you were asked to send money to.
3. Freeze your bank accounts and cards to stop further payments, update the passwords of any affected accounts and add multi-factor authentication.
4. Ask your bank whether a payment sent wrongly can be reversed, and contact the police if money has been taken from your account. In the UK, see our [UK reporting page](https://atakanrecoveryservices.com/account-recovery-uk/).

## How to recognise a real Vinted message

- In the UK, Vinted sends emails from an address ending in @vinted.co.uk.
- You never need to leave Vinted to confirm a payment or receive an order.
- Pay with the Buy button: your payment details aren't shared with the seller.
- Official updates come from Vinted's own account, which has a special badge next to its name.
- Urgent deadlines, threats to block your account and links that “expire” are scam tactics.

## Frequently asked questions

### A buyer wants me to confirm the sale through a link.

That's a scam: Vinted says you never need to leave Vinted to confirm a payment or receive an order. Keep everything in the app. You can also paste the message into our [scam message checker](https://atakanrecoveryservices.com/scam-message-checker/).

### Will Vinted refund what I lost?

Vinted says it can't be held responsible for losses resulting from scams or phishing. Talk to your bank about reversing the payment and report it to the police.

### Can you recover my Vinted account?

Recovery goes through Vinted's support. We can help you prepare a clear request and secure your other accounts, through official channels only and without ever asking for a password or code.
