# Facebook account disabled: how to request a review

A disabled Facebook account can take Pages, groups and ad accounts with it. Here is how to approach the review calmly and in the right order.

Last updated: October 2026

## In short

### What should I do if Facebook disabled my account?

Read the notice and take a screenshot, then use the review option it offers. If Facebook asks you to confirm your identity, upload the requested ID or take the video selfie yourself through Facebook's own form. Don't open a new profile to get around the decision.

## Step 1: Find out what kind of restriction it is

Facebook can lock an account for a security check, restrict some features, or disable it. The notice tells you which one applies and whether a review is available. A locked account usually needs a security check; a disabled one needs a review request.

## Step 2: Request the review through the notice

Use the option in the notice to disagree with the decision. Keep your details consistent with the account and submit once. Submitting again and again rarely speeds anything up.

## Step 3: Confirm your identity if asked

Facebook may ask for an ID document or a video selfie. Use only the form inside Facebook or on facebook.com. Anyone who asks you to send ID by direct message is not from Meta.

## If Pages or ad accounts are affected

- Check Pages and ad accounts in the Account Quality section of Meta Business Suite
- Make sure another trusted admin is added to important Pages and ad accounts
- Fix the profile first if business assets were restricted because of it
- Keep invoices and business documents ready to show ownership

## When to get help

Get help if the review was rejected but you believe the decision was a mistake, if you are stuck in an identity confirmation loop, or if your business depends on the Pages or ad accounts involved.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I create a new Facebook account while mine is disabled?

It is risky. Facebook's rules don't allow using new accounts to get around enforcement, and it can affect your review.

### How long does a Facebook review take?

There is no fixed timeline. Some reviews finish within a day or two, others take weeks.

### Will my Pages come back with my profile?

If the profile is restored, Pages you managed through it are usually accessible again. Assets that were restricted separately may need their own review.
