How long does it take to recover a disabled or hacked account?
It depends on the platform and the step. Some publish a figure: Meta says ad account reviews typically take 48 hours, Apple sends an account recovery confirmation within 72 hours, Snapchat says to wait 48 hours after some temporary locks, and WhatsApp says most ban reviews are completed within 24 hours. Others, such as TikTok and X, give no fixed time.

- These are the platforms' own figures, not guarantees. Each row links to its source; check it, because platforms update their help pages.
- Where a platform publishes no time, we don't invent one. A long silence doesn't always mean a refusal.
- Nobody outside the platform can shorten an official waiting period. Treat anyone who offers to “skip the queue” for a fee as a warning sign.
- PayPal's periods come from its US user agreement; terms differ by country.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no time for TikTok or X?
Because they don't publish one. TikTok says its support team reviews a recovery request and gets back to you, and X gives no fixed time for appeals.
Can someone speed up an appeal for me?
No. Apple says its own support team can't shorten account recovery, Snapchat says tickets outside the in-app appeal don't speed it up, and Telegram says it can't lift a spam limit early. What helps is a complete, accurate first request; our appeal templates can help you write one.
