In short
How do I get a disabled Facebook ad account back?
On a computer, open Meta Business Support Home, select the restricted account and follow What you can do: confirm your identity, complete verification, secure the account or request a review. You must be an admin to request a review. Meta says a review is typically completed in 48 hours, and you can only request one a limited number of times.
What exactly is restricted?
- Business portfolio: the business isn't allowed to advertise.
- Ad account: the account, its ads and some of its advertising assets are disabled.
- Page: the Page isn't allowed to advertise.
- Personal profile: that person can't advertise or create ads, and ad accounts where they are the only user may also be disabled. Other members of the business may still be able to advertise.
Why Meta restricts advertising
Meta lists not following its Community Standards, Advertising Standards, Commerce Policies or other terms; a business portfolio or assets that seem hacked; not meeting its two-factor authentication requirements; and unusual payment or account activity, such as many failed or disputed payments. A restriction can mean a lower spending limit, losing some payment or advertising features, or losing the ability to advertise at all.
Request a review
- 1On a computer, open Meta Business Support Home and select Account status overview.
- 2Select the restricted account. Under What you can do, take the steps Meta shows: confirm your identity, complete verification, secure your account or request a review.
- 3To request a review you must be an admin on the account. Select Request review and complete the steps on screen.
- 4Wait for the decision. Meta says reviews are typically completed in 48 hours, though some take longer. If the account is reinstated, turn your ads back on in Ads Manager: they don't restart automatically.
Disabled because a payment failed
When a payment method fails, Meta pauses your ads and disables the ad account until you pay the amount due. In Billing & payments, select the ad account, then Payment methods and Pay now, and use an existing or new payment method. If it keeps failing, try again later with a different card. Once the balance is paid, Meta resumes your active or scheduled ads.
Know the limits
- You can only request an advertising restriction review a limited number of times, and once a review is completed the decision is final. Meta says asking for another review won't hurt your standing.
- If an ad account disabled for a policy violation stays ineligible for reinstatement for 6 months, it can't be reinstated after that, and unused prepaid funds may be forfeited where the law allows.
- Meta reserves the right to disable an account permanently before those 6 months in some circumstances.
