In short
How do I get a fake account impersonating me removed?
Platforms have official impersonation report forms. They usually need proof of identity from the person being impersonated, or a trademark for a brand. A complete, well-documented report is reviewed far more reliably than repeated in-app reports.
Can I report a fake account if I am not on that platform?
Often, yes. Several platforms accept impersonation reports from people without an account, through a web form.
Why fake accounts stay up
Ordinary in-app reports are processed in bulk, and a fake account that looks slightly different from yours can slip through. The official impersonation forms work better, but they need the right evidence: who you are, which account is the real one, and how the fake one misleads people.
Brands face a related problem: fake shops and support accounts that use the logo to collect payments or login details. Here a trademark-based report is usually the strongest route.
When we can help
- A fake profile uses your name, photos or videos.
- An account pretends to be your brand, shop or customer support.
- Copies keep reappearing under new names.
- Fake accounts are contacting your followers or customers.
When we can't help
- Fan, parody or commentary accounts that are clearly labeled and don't mislead.
- Removing the real account of someone you are in a dispute with.
- Cases where you can't show you are the person or brand being copied.

Frequently asked questions
How many fake accounts can be handled in one case?
As many as there are. Documenting a network of copies together is often more effective than reporting them one by one.
What if the fake account comes back under a new name?
That is common. We keep the evidence from your case so that new copies can be reported quickly with the same documentation.
Will the person behind the fake account know I reported it?
Platforms generally don't tell the reported account who filed an impersonation report. Some trademark or legal routes can share the reporter's details, and we tell you in advance when that applies.
