How to contact Instagram and Facebook support

No phone number: what that means for you

Meta says that Meta, including Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp, has no general public phone number for customer service, and that phone numbers claiming to be Meta support are potentially scams. Such numbers turn up in search results and comments; don't call them, and never give a login code or password to anyone on the phone.

Meta does add that it may offer specialized phone support in certain jurisdictions or with certain products, and Meta Verified's higher plans include a call from an agent that you request inside the app.

The support channels Meta lists

• Help Centers: for most issues, Meta says the Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Business Help Centers are the easiest way to get support.
• Meta AI support assistant: a chat on Instagram and Facebook that can walk you through steps such as securing a compromised account or appealing a content decision.
• Meta Verified support: subscribers get chat and email support from human agents.
• Meta Business Support Home: the route for advertisers.
• In the EU: an additional form that routes you to support for your issue, and Meta's points of contact under the Digital Services Act.

Use the Meta AI support assistant

1. 1Open the Instagram Help Center in a browser where you're logged in to your Instagram account.
2. 2Select Ask a question…, type your question or pick a suggested one, and send it.
3. 3Follow the steps it gives. Meta says it can troubleshoot settings and passwords, guide you through appeals or securing a compromised account, and check your account status. Meta also says AI can make mistakes, so double-check anything that looks wrong.

Meta Verified support: who it's for

Creators and businesses with an active Meta Verified subscription on Instagram or Facebook get help from human agents, and their requests are prioritized. Chat support works only in the Instagram and Facebook mobile apps, not on computers. Each case gets a case ID; if you don't reply to the agent within 7 days, the case closes automatically and can't be reopened. Meta lists chat and email support in languages including Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish.
